Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is building SPARC, the world's first net-energy fusion device. We are hiring a Plasma Physicist to join our science team. You will contribute to plasma physics research and experimental design for SPARC and ARC, our commercial fusion power plant design. Responsibilities: - Develop and validate physics models for tokamak plasma performance - Analyze experimental data from SPARC commissioning and operations - Perform integrated modeling using TRANSP, ASTRA, and other simulation tools - Design plasma scenarios for SPARC operation campaigns - Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences - Collaborate with partner institutions (MIT PSFC, international labs)

Requirements

- PhD in Plasma Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field - Strong background in tokamak physics and MHD stability - Experience with integrated modeling codes (TRANSP, ASTRA, TGLF) - Publication record in plasma physics or fusion science - Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment - U.S. work authorization required
